Ardvreck Castle - Loch Assynt

Heavy rain clouds brood over the ruins of Ardvreck Castle which stands on a rocky promontory jutting out into Loch Assynt. The ruins can be reached by driving along the A837 which follows the north shore of Loch Assynt from the village of Inchnadamph.

Ghosts and legends of Ardvreck: The castle has two ghosts, one a tall man dressed in grey is said to be related to the betrayal of Montrose. The other is the ghost of a daughter of one of the Macleod Chieftains.
