Stones are Eternal - Co. Tyrone The Beaghmore circles in the heart of Northern Ireland is certainly a magical place to visit. Our ancestors were certainly closer to nature than we are today and the changing of the seasons had special significance for these neolithic people. Archaeologists conclude that the circles at beaghmore have been constructed in relation to the rising of the sun at the solstice, or to record the movements of the sun and moon acting as observatories for particular lunar, solar or stellar events. |
