Magical & Haunting - Kinbane

Kinbane, meaning ‘white headland’ is a little-known jewel in the North Coast of County Antrim which is landlocked by steep cliffs on all sides. Because of the danger of the steep decent its closed off to the public. I jumped a couple of fences and made my way down to this secluded magical and haunting location.

A search on the internet reveals that near the castle is a hollow known as 'Lag na Sassenach' (Hollow of the English). It was here during the 1500s that a garrison of English soldiers laying siege to the castle were surrounded and massacred. It is believed that their souls are trapped in this place.
